Shajahan Begum is 16 years old, and is studying at the Government run Vocational Junior College in Nampally, Hyderabad. She comes from a conservative middle class family. Her father is a technician and her mother is a house wife. She has one brother. She is very hard working girl, and does well in studies. She joined HOPE Computer Training Center to learn computers.
Shajahan is very happy with the staff at the Center and the donors who support her computer education. Shajahan says “Before this, I joined another institute, but didn’t learn much. Here at HOPE I can learn so many things like Ms-Office & Tally”. Tally is the most popular accounting software used by small businesses in India.
Shajahan’s goal is to do something in her life. After joining the center she learned computers and started teaching in another institute by working as a part-time faculty and earning Rs. 3000 ($67) per month to support her family. She works in the mornings from 8:30am to 12:30pm as a part time faculty after which she attends regular college from 1:00pm to 5:30pm.
Thank you, Marc, Bill and Howard, for supporting Shajahan’s computer training, thereby helping her edge closer to her goals!
