Shravanthi wants to get employed and support her parents…

Shravanthi
Dear Sarah, Ray and Lael, and Ted and Pam,

Sixteen year old, Shravanthi  lives with her family in Nampally in Hyderabad. She has appeared for her school leaving examinations, and is awaiting the results.

Shravanthi’s father is working in her cousin’s coconut shop and earns Rs. 3,000 ($67) per month while her mother works as an attendant and earns Rs. 4,000 ($89) per month. Shravanthi has one older brother who is also working.

In spite of all her family members working, it becomes difficult for them to meet their needs, especially since they have to also pay for Shravanthi’s education and save up for her higher studies. She realizes that she should also be helping her family in some way and was very keen on learning computers during her holidays. She knew that being proficient in computers would help her get employed, easily. Her family, however, could not pay for her computer education, and she was looking for a place where the course could be subsidized.

But thanks to your generous donations, Ted and Pam, Sara and Ray and Lael, Shravanthi was able to get enrolled at the HOPE Center and is learning MS-Office and other applications. She is very happy to be getting this opportunity and is putting her heart and soul into it.

Thank you all, for your support thereby enabling Sravanthi to get equipped with the necessary skills that will help her get employed!
