Mateen is an ambitious boy!

Dear Brandon,

Sixteen year old Mirma Ffaraz (Mateen) is  a 1st year intermediate student. He comes from a middle class family. His father Mir Mazher Ali works as a salesman and is the sole bread winner in this big family of six children (Mateen and his 5 sisters). His mother is a house wife.

Mateen works part-time in an optical store and earns Rs. 2,000 ($45) per month to support his family. He works from 10am to 12pm and after which he attends  regular college for his studies.

He joined HOPE computer training center to learn computers. After college, in the evening he learns computers to add a value to his regular course. He hopes to get employed in a  good firm and support his family.

Your sponsorship of Mateen’s computer training course has come as a boon to this family as it not only helps him learn computer application but also enables him to meet the needs of his family.

By standing on his own feet, Mateen can ensure that his siblings get better education.

Najmawissa is positive of getting a good job!

Seventeen year old Najmawissa  comes from a middle class family of three brothers and four sisters. Her father Syed Ibrahim used to work in an office but is currently hospitalized due to an illness . Her eldest sister is married and her three other sisters are still studying.

Najmawissa is currently  studying in 2nd year of Graduation at Nampally government Jr. College. It was her desire  to learn computers and get a good job after her studies. She joined HOPE to learn computers and hoped to get employed in a good firm after the course. She wants to help her father and be able to meet the needs of their large family.

Najmawissa is very happy with the staff of HOPE and the donor who has sponsored her computer training course. She is very grateful to you, Shveta for supporting her which indirectly helps her support her entire family!

Rita is working towards a good career

Dear Dwayne and Terese,

Rita is 17 years old, studying in intermediate final year. Her father is a security guard, and her mother is a housewife. She has two brothers, and her father’s income is barely enough to support the family’s needs.

Rita has always wanted to have a career and be economically independent. She joined the Computer Training Center run by HOPE, so she could learn the basics of operating computers.

Rita is progressing nicely, and is very pleased with the staff at the center who provide individual care to each student. “I am learning computers. But apart from that, I am learning discipline also. Our faculty clears all our doubts and take special attention to the students“, she says about the Centre.

Aparna’s wish fulfilled…

Eighteen year old Aparna was going through a tough time. She lost her father six months back and her  brother & sister have been working hard to support the family. Owing to her poor financial condition, Aparna was unable to complete her 10th grade and decided to pursue a beautician course and worked in a beauty parlor to support her family.

Aparna wished to learn computers and joined the HOPE computer training center. Having finished her basic course, she is now learning MS-Office. It was her dream to learn computers and get hired in a good firm. She is very happy with the faculty at HOPE and their method of teaching.

Thanks to your support, Neil, Shravan and Peter, Aparna’s fees for the computer course has been taken care of.  She is very happy & excited to learn computers from HOPE and is very thankful for your support, at a time when she needed it the most.

Security Guard to an IT professional!

Dear Chris and Emily, Lee, and Michael,

Twenty one year old K. Dev Raj comes from a middle class family of six members. He has one brother and two sisters. His father works as a supervisor. Family obligations compelled Dev Raj to drop out of school after the 9th grade and take up a job. Due to lack of good education, he had very few options and he took up a job as a security guard for Rs. 3,000 ($66) per month, to support his family.

Although he always wished to learn computers, he thought he would never be able to afford the fees and had almost given up when he learned about HOPE computer training center, through one of his friends. He enrolled for the computer course run by HOPE and is very happy to be learning to use the computer. He dreams of taking up a job in the IT sector after completing the computer course.

Thank you, Chris and Emily, Michael and Lee, for helping Dev Raj by sponsoring his computer training. Devraj is now positive of getting a better job after completing his course and is thrilled about his transition from a security guard to an IT professional.

Shajahan Begum’s goal!

Shajahan Begum is 16 years old, and is studying at the Government run Vocational Junior College in Nampally, Hyderabad. She comes from a conservative middle class family. Her father is a technician and her mother is a house wife. She has one brother. She is very hard working girl, and does well in studies. She joined HOPE Computer Training Center to learn computers.

Shajahan is very happy with the staff at the Center and the donors who support her computer education. Shajahan says “Before this, I joined another institute, but didn’t learn much. Here at HOPE I can learn so many things like Ms-Office & Tally”. Tally is the most popular accounting software used by small businesses in India.

Shajahan’s goal is to do something in her life. After joining the center she learned computers and started teaching in another institute by working as a part-time faculty and earning Rs. 3000 ($67) per month to support her family. She works in the mornings  from 8:30am to 12:30pm as a part time faculty after which  she attends regular college from 1:00pm to 5:30pm.

Vijaya can now support her family…

Vijaya is a final year graduate student from a middle class family. Her father works as a daily wage laborer in a shed and earns Rs. 200 ($5). Vijaya joined the Computer center run by HOPE to learn Tally, the most popular accounting package course  used by small businesses in India .

She hopes to complete her Tally course after graduation and get employed in  a reputed firm as an accountant, so she can help supplement the family income.

Rajini joined the computer course run by HOPE and is learning Tally, the most popular accounting software used by small businesses in India. She never expected to get a chance to learn this course and is very happy now that she is learning it.

After completing her graduation and the Tally course, she aims to get employed as an accountant and earn a good salary, thereby supporting her family by standing on her own feet.

Rajini is very happy and thankful to HOPE and to all of you, Mark, Lynn, Bill and David for helping her learn this course.

Some things can be restored!!

Dear Rao, Jeffrey, and Marc,

Anand hails from a very poor family. He lost his mother in childhood, after which he lost focus in his studies and went into depression before deciding to discontinue his studies.

Anand’s father is ailing from a leg problem which does not allow him to walk or take up a job. He has two siblings, a brother and a sister. Anand’s entire family is being supported by another family, living in the neighborhood.

Anand had studied only up to Grade 9 before deciding to drop out of school. With just this much education, he had few choices and he eventually took up the job of a security guard, to be able to support his family.

After joining HOPE to learn computers, Anand feels like his old life is coming back to him and he is now focusing on building a career for himself. He is hoping to get a better job as a DTP (Desktop Publishing) operator, after completing the course.

Helping Ashish Grow!

Dear Brian and Robin and Louise,

T. Ashish is 16 years old and lives in Nampally, Hyderabad. His father works as a newspaper boy and earns very little to run his middle class family of 4 children. His mother is a house wife.

Ashish is currently pursuing his first year intermediate course. He learned about HOPE through his friends and joined the course to learn computers.

In the mornings,  Ashish works as a paperboy after which he attends college till noon. Afer college, he goes to elarn computers at the HOPE center and by evening again, he works part time for four hours in a courier office.

He thus, juggles two jobs and two courses in one day, only to be able to support his own education and family.

After completion of the course and studies, Ashish is hoping to get employed in a good firm and grow in life.
