Bipin is thoroughly enjoying his computer course!

Dear Laurent, Peter, and Lowry,

Twenty-one year old Bipin lives in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad. His father is a farmer and his mother is a home-maker. Bipin comes from a middle class family of very modest means. He has three younger siblings.

Owing to their poor economic condition, Bipin was forced to start working at a very young age. He took up a job as a security guard while he was still studying in the 12th grade.  Though he was hard-working, honest and sincere, he realized he did not have much chance of professional advancement in his due to lack of basic knowledge in computers and spoken English. It’s here that he realized the importance of learning computer skills and got enrolled for the computer training course at HOPE Foundation.

Along with computer training, he is also learning basic English here which will hold him in good stead. This is an opportunity for him to learn necessary skills which will help him grow in his career and Bipin is very grateful to you, Laurent, Peter and Wat, for your generous donations of a month of computer training each, that have made this possible for him.

Bipin is positive of getting  employed as soon as he completes his course. Thanks to your support, it won’t be long before Bipin can start supporting his family!

Krishnaveni is a very intelligent girl!

Fifteen year old Krishnaveni lives in Nampally, Hyderabad. Her father is daily wage laborer, who earns Rs. 100 ($2.5) per day. Her mother works as a maid servant to supplement the family income. She comes from a middle class family and has two younger siblings.

Krishnaveni who is currently studying in the 9th grade is a very ambitious girl and realizes the importance of education. She is willing to work hard and is also a class topper. She wants to pass her exams with flying colors and be eligible to get employed in a good firm, after completing her education.

Realizing the need to be proficient in the use of Computers, she got herself enrolled for the computer course run by HOPE Foundation which she attends everyday, after school. Besides learning computers, she also learns basic English at the HOPE center. She enjoys her class and even stays back for an extra hour and takes the help of teachers at HOPE to practice her English.

From the modest background that she hails from, Krishnaveni could never dream of learning computers, had it not been for your generous support, Laurent.

Krishnaveni is very grateful for your support and values it very much. She promises to make the most of this opportunity you have given her and  work hard towards fulfilling her dream of becoming a teacher so she can impact more lives.

Prathibha is determined to secure her son’s future!

Dear Neil, Ehtasham, and Niranjan,

Prathibha comes from a middle class family background and lives in Nampally, Hyderabad.

Prathibha family position is too week  and Her mother works as a maid servant and earns a meager sum of  Rs. 3,000 ($67) per month and her father does not have a job. She has three siblings – two brothers and a sister studying in the 7th grade. The mother being the sole earning member in the family, the entire family is dependent on her to meet their needs. With her meager income, she has to take care of the children’s education and the basic needs of the family. Understandably, they are going through a tough time and their financial condition is very poor.

Pratibha herself is married and lives separately with her husband and a three year old son. Here is her story in her own words: “I am married and have a 3 year old son. My husband who was good to me in the beginning does not want us now and physically abuses me. I am really upset. My husband works as a car driver but he does not give a part of his salary for the household needs and treats me very badly. That is how I decided to learn a skill that will help me find a job easily. I have studied only up to my 1st year of Intermediate course and had to discontinue my studies due to my marriage being fixed.” While she is hopeful that her husband will mend his ways someday, she is determined to stand on her own feet and secure her son’s future.

She heard about HOPE Training Center’s computer course from a cousin and got enrolled in the course.  Pratibha was able to enroll and attend the computer course, only because of your generous donations, Neil, Ehtasham and Niranjan.

With absolutely no support from her husband and no source of income, it’s your support that gave her a chance to learn computers. She now hopes to complete her course and start working in a good firm soon.

Lavanya has a a bright future to look forward to..

Dear Kandace,

Lavanya hails from a middle class family. Her Father  is a  farmer who works in the fields to support his family of three members  and her mother is a house wife.

Having failed her 2nd year of intermediate course, Lavanya was depressed and stayed home to decide on her next plan of action. She learnt about the computer course run by HOPE Foundation through one of her classmates, Shalini who had herself undergone training from here.

Lavanya got enrolled for the course and is currently learning computers at HOPE Foundation, in spite of having failed her intermediate course.  She is very keen on learning computers and is a quick learner.

She is able to grasp what is being taught by the Faculty and is thoroughly enjoying the course. She is now motivated to complete her course and work in this field and share the responsibility of supporting her family, along with her father.

Your generous donation, Kandace, has taken care of Lavanya’s course fees and she can now focus on completing her course and looking for a good job.

Meeta learns computers along with her son!

Meeta Andaria lives in old Katalmandi, Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally, Hyderabad. She comes from a middle class family background and her husband who works in a garments shop  earns barely enough to meet the needs of the family. Meeta’s son is in high school. Though Meeta has never gone out and worked, she was very eager to learn computers, so she could start working in an office.

Before joining  the HOPE training center, Meeta didn’t know how to use a computer but in a short span, she has become proficient with Microsoft Office and is very confident about her computer skills. She is determined to learn to use all the software programs that her son is so proficient in.

Meeta now wants to work in this field and hopes to get employed soon. She wants to support her husband who is right now, the sole bread winner of the family and contribute to the family income so that, together they can provide for their son’s higher education and other needs.

She is very happy that the staff at HOPE are very helpful and she says ” Before I learned, I was afraid to learn computers. Now I can use a computer very easily” and she wants to convey this message to others like her that  any one with a little interest can learn computers and that age doesn’t matter.

Anisha Andharia’s Ambition

Anisha Andharia comes from a middle class backgound and lives in Chirag Ali Lane, Nampally, Hyderabad. She is the mother of a child who is now in high school. Her husband has a small store where he sells ginger. He earns around $ 75 per month, which is barely enough to support the three member family.

Anisha had always wanted to learn to use computers, but due to her early marriage, her dreams remained unfulfilled. She heard about the computer courses offered by HOPE, and approached the Center to find out if they would be willing to train her.

The staff at HOPE were impressed by her determination to master something at her age, and they gave her admission in the course. Though she has not been to school for a very long time, she showed great determination, and is now mastering the usage of computers.

Thanks to your donation, Shveta, Anisha is on the way to fulfilling her lifelong dream of learning to use computers. She now hopes to get a good job, so she can supplement the family income.

Afsha’s dream comes true!

Afsha Fathima comes from a middle class family background and lives in a place called Chirag Ali Lane in Nampally, Hyderabad.

She lives with her big family of six members. Her mother is a house-wife and Afsha has three brothers who are of school-going age. The family survives on the meager income of her father who works in a rubber factory. Their monthly income is Rs. 3,000 ($67) with which they have to meet the basic needs of the family and also pay for the education of the children.

Afsha studied till grade 10 and realized it would be difficult for her family to pay for her higher education. It was her dream to learn computers as she knew it would improve her chances of getting employed in a good firm. She wanted to help her father by supporting the family and ensure that her little brothers got good education.

On hearing about the HOPE computer training center from a friend, she got herself enrolled in the Computer Course. Afsha is a very keen learner and is doing very well in the course. Her teachers are very happy to have an eager learner like her in class.

Afsha was able to join this course, only because of the generous donations of Kristin, LaCesha and Dennis.

Salma Motivated to Learn!

Salma lives in chirag ali lane, Nampally, Hyderabad. She lost her father 3 years ago. Her mother works as a house keeper and earns Rs. 3,000/- per month to support the family of 3 girls.

Salma comes from a mid-class background family and studied upto 10th class with a backlog. She was very much interested in computers. Through her friend, she came to know about HOPE computer training center and joined the center to learn computers.

She is very eager to learn computers and demonstrates much interest in class.

Salma wants to be successful in her life. She says, “the faculty is very good here in HOPE center and they explain very well. I want to be successful in my life! After finishing my course, i want a computer job and want to support my mother”.

Fareeda Begum wants to stand on her own two feet

Dear Eileen, George, and Dean and Julie,

Seventeen year old Fareeda Begum is the youngest of four daughters. Her father passed away, and her mother is a home-maker. Since all her sisters are married, Fareeda and her mother have to depend on their extended family to support them. Though girls from her conservative Muslim community do not go in for higher studies and/ or outside employment, Fareeda is determined to stand on her own feet and look after her mother.

She is enrolled in a local college, but realizes that in order to get a decent job, she would need to learn to use computers. The staff at HOPE Computer Training Centre were moved by her heart rendering story and gave her admission into the course.

Your donations, Dean and Julie, Eileen and George, have ensured that her computer course fees would be taken care of.  Fareeda is doing well in her course and aspires to get employed in a good firm soon so she can support herself and her mother.

Swetha is determined to prove she is no less than a son

Seventeen year old D. Swetha is a sophomore at the Government Vocational Junior College in Nampally, Hyderabad.

Her father,  Dayanand, works in a shop and earns barely enough to support his big family of six members. Swetha has three sisters all of whom are also studying. Dayanand, like most other middle class men of his generation, always rues the fact that he doesn’t have a son who can support the family. Swetha is determined to prove that she is no less than a son.

She enrolled at the HOPE computer training center and is currently under training. She is a keen learner and is doing well in her academics and computer course.
